Yves Klein
Yves Klein's 'Table Bleue' (blue table), 'Table Rose' (pink table) and 'Table D'Or' (gold table) are works from an edition commenced in 1963 under the supervision of Yves' widow, Rotraut Klein-Moquay. They are based on a model designed in 1961 by the artist whose legendary shade of International Klein Blue (IKB) blue was patented in 1960.
There are three tables in the collection, one filled with pure loose IKB pigment, one with rose madder and one with 3000 sheets of gold leaf. The table's form is simple and elegant and designed so that the loose pigment within the plexiglass tabletop appears to magically float above the ground. All tables are accompanied by a signed and numbered placard of authenticity issued by the Yves Klein Foundation.
Design 55 has exclusivity in New Zealand.
