Marrying the timeless design of Garth Chester’s iconic plywood ‘Curvesse’ chair (1944) with the 21st century sensibility of Philippe Starck, New Zealand designer Gregory Smith has created the uber-sexy “retroflex” chair. Sporting dangerous curves crafted from molded acrylic, its sophisticated minimalism should see the chair destined to become a kiwi cult classic.
