Fran Dibble was born in New Haven, Connecticut, USA and graduated with BSc in biochemistry and botany, MSc in biochemistry and BA in philosophy. Fran and her husband, sculptor Paul Dibble, run an art studio and bronze foundry. She writes an arts review for a newspaper and has received the Queen Service’s Medal.
Paul Dibble is an accomplished bronze sculptor and one of only a few artists in New Zealand who cast their own works. He studied at Elam School of Fine Arts, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1967 and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Massey University, Palmerston North in 2007.
